Drink up: Gremlins, Christmas beer celebrate cheer at The Independent

The Independent's Free Monday Movie Night invites you to "aww" at Gizmo (and down holiday suds).

The Independent Bar and Cafe is set to host this month's free movie night at 8 p.m. Monday inside its beer hall. In honor of the season, of course, the brewpub's showing the 1984 horror-comedy classic, Gremlins.

But if watching widdle Mogwais terrorize a small town during Christmastime isn't tantalizing enough, The Independent also has a handful of holiday brews for patrons to sip on.

There are five bottled beers that boast seasonal merriment, including Belgian-style offerings like Corsendonk's Christmas Ale and Père Noël by De Ranke.

Meanwhile, Fat Head's Brewery's Holly Jolly Christmas Ale, with hints of ginger, honey and cinnamon spice, is featured among the bar's draft lineup.
