Sh*t happened 2/11/16: Students with guns, Utah "tampon law" struck down

Let's do this:

In the midst of a lockdown at Tampa's Plant High, police found what are being referred to as "hunting weapons" in the car of an 18-year-old student; the presence of the student's guns on campus appeared totally unrelated to the reason for the lockdown. "Of course he should be able to have his hunting guns on campus, they're hunting guns, not people-killing guns or getting-stolen guns or accidentally-going-off guns," said a bunch of people who seriously need to re-evaluate their priorities.

Another 18-year-old Tampa student was arrested after bringing a loaded semiautomatic pistol — one that was confirmed to be stolen — onto a school bus. He was also in possession of a black ski mask. Yes, this seems much, much worse than Hunting Guns Guy, but it still doesn't make Hunting Guns Guy a Real American Hero(tm) by comparison, or anything other than a guy who also broke a law.

And finally, in the midst of the current international trend toward eliminating sales tax for necessary feminine hygiene products such as tampons, a Utah panel struck down a bill that would do just that. The panel was made up completely of men — as in, humans who have never experienced a menstrual cycle, or had to choose between lunch or pads the day before payday, and who in all probability just wanted to stop hearing the word "tampon" being spoken in their presence because "girl stuff" makes them uncomfortable. Here's to you, guys:
