✔️  Mild High Club w/FayRoy/Hello Joyce Mild High Club is is what happens when the stoner band kid who loves Steely Dan and Todd Rundgren gets a record deal with one of the most respected underground labels in L.A. — and we like it. Alexander Brettin played the flute before majoring in jazz studies, and these days he’s a songwriter in the vein of Mac DeMarco. Just listen to the hazy, modern-day AM Gold he’s making on his latest LP, last year’s laid-back, psych-pop mushroom trip Skiptracing. (Crowbar, Ybor City) INFO

Insane Clown Posse It’s probably best that this one got moved from St. Pete to Ybor City (the balcony at State Theatre is still under renovation, making capacity for a show like this a major issue). (UPDATE: The show is back on at State; confusing, we know.) The move should make it easier for clean-up crews to mop up the gallons of Faygo that will inevitably get sprayed all over the place as Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope — collectively known as Insane Clown Posse — work through a brand of horrorcore that’s earned ICP enough fans to stage a march on Washington after the Justice Department’s National Gang Intelligence Center deemed said fans (aka Juggalos) a “loosely organized hybrid gang.” Confused? Find an Michigan ACLU video where the duo explains why it’s suing the FBI, and then head to the Cuban Club to see it all go down in real life. Melody Artisans of the Crooked Thumb: Foreshadowing Songs Part songwriter’s workshop, part concert. This is a chance to kick back at one of the Bay area’s many breweries while a group of strummers works through a themed night of song. This one tackles the idea of using foreshadowing to get a listener to invest into the whole tune. (Crooked Thumb Brewery, Safety Harbor) INFO

✔️  Willie Nelson & Family It’s only 60 miles from Ybor City to Sarasota’s Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall (less if you start in St. Pete), and we’d say that’s more than worth it to see 84-year-old activist, poet, songwriter and country music legend Willie Nelson as he makes his rounds in support of — yes, you’re reading this right — a new album of original music, God’s Problem Child. We know you don’t make it across the Sunshine Skyway too often, so if you get lost just follow the big puffs of weed smoke. (Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, Sarasota) INFO
