i will have to try it. I love Taco Bus,
Good riddance. You were nothing more than a self-righteous, unqualified hack of a "critic". All your overly pedantic nonsense did for me was make my eyes bleed. The only thing you were really good at was sucking.
really? Brian Ries? you think a Brian Ries would know about real mexican food? let Brian Ries crticize mcdonalds and burger king and let a real mexican food critic try tacoson! hell be hooked for life!
As someone that grew up in san diego, I have to say TacoSon is the most authentic mex food I have experienced. Their salsa is also THE BEST I have had anywhere, and that's high praise. The extra hot is not a roof-burner, but rather a perfect blend of hot, sweet and savory. I buy a bottle of it every time I go in. This review couldn't be further from the facts, and it's sad utter pablum like this was published.
5 star in tampabay?
never happen
So much for his "cut." Forgive my dry British humor.
Wow, I almost never comment, but have to give props to the Hudson Hawk drop. Most underrated movie ever?
Now that I'm out of Cl, I'll be free to eat microwave sushi, naked, in the back of a limousine with Leonardo Da Vinci. Just like before I was out of CL.
It's a trap; get an axe.
So, when's this Sebastian Cabot Buckingham Palace-looking butler-head motherfucker getting here?
Best of luck to you Brian. Thanks for helping me build my portfolio of food shots! ;)
Farewell Brian, I always enjoyed your take on local restaurants! You were always truthful, no matter how unpopular it was! You will be missed...
wow i musta been there on a bad sunday.
bbq was mediocre at best. ribs are some of the worst i have ever had in tampa. greens weren't any better.
salad out of a bag.
then to burgers...musta been deep fried to be the same color all around.
don't know where these international eaters are dining but i've had better food out of a food truck
1st time at Ella's. I was in hog heaven. Coming from Chicago, I finally found a place to get good (cheap) drinks at Happy Hour, and a very eclectic and creative menu. The special was absolutely fabulous and our wait person was awesome. The owner greeted us and had a nice chat! That's the difference -- when the owner cares enough to 'be there'. And we ain't 'hip'....we are experienced international eaters and we are so happy to find a place in Tampa that meets are foodie needs!
Tangelo's has been a great addition to Gulfport! Great food, great people. They really became immersed in the community! -- Ester from LocalShops1.
Good point, tampafoodie. Chef Fred Quinones is the man in question, and an excellent chef he is.
It would have been nice to read the chef's name in this article to whom you give such great review on his food.
Where's the winner of the fourth competition? Or was it just majority wins? Kind of left in the dark here. Weak!!
I took my wife and kids to eat at the north Tampa location for the first time about a week ago, and the pizza was absolutely amazing. My kids ordered the pepperoni pizza and they loved it, my wife and I went for the pistachio pizza. I have never had pistachios on a pizza and I was blown away by how good it was. We finished the meal by ordering a cheesecake that the server said was made that morning and it was delicious as well. We will definitely be back.
The article didn't mention the winner of the fourth competition.
well it looks like you even fooled the creative loafing guy with your frozen meatballs and precooked shrimp LOL.....Peter is a fake ass foodie who's trying to spread is over priced fake gimmic lies of his own food quality all over dtown st pete like a cancer.....but if you enjoy a 50 something frat boy liar with no taste buds burnt pizza and completely OVERHYPED ingredients that are all bullshit from restaurant depot.....wood fired burnt shit w/ no nightlife unless you prefer 70s rock GO THE FUCK BACK TO TAMPA
Re: “Can TacoSon's invasion of St. Petersburg succeed?”
I remember a day when EL TACONAZO used to be 'parking room only' on Friday afternoons, full of Mexican masons, fruit pickers and drywall hangers... byob'ing 12 packs of Tecate.. Yep, when the food was the the shiz and priced right enough to attract Mexicans, themselves. How times change.
