i don't really see a problem if there are only 2 - 4 available spots... B&M restaurants only get one shot after all.
in my opinion, food trucks should be guerrilla in nature. they should have an amazing social network and blast them the when and where. stay under the radar and ask forgiveness in lieu of permission. if you want a place for folks to know where you will always be - either strike up a partnership with a retailer (Cigar City Brewing comes to mind as an example) or invest in a piece of land and have that as your home base (Tun-du-ree did this when they first started).
gonna get some hippie lettuce, gonna go to waffle house
i think have a truck that serves dog in a variety of ways
sushi dog
broiled dog
dog kebab
dog legs
hot dogs
i think the most popular due to the weather will be dog in heat
its florida...always far behind and corrupt.
and fads? we're about 3-5 years behind the rest of the country. we're playing catch-up when everywhere is starting a new one.
I like their food but prefer getting it in take-out form.
Its almost embarrassing to see how far we are behind from the rest of the country. As a small business owner trying to open a stand alone restaurant I can tell you this city will do nothing to support you! Right of ways, sidewalks to no where, parking, impact fees you name it, they do it wrong here in the Burg. Good luck writing to the mayors action "hotline" or him for that matter. If these truck owners would rally together maybe they could start a mutiny against this backwards ran, non-supportive city. I feel for you folks!
Wonder if the existing law has anything to do with them trying to restrain vendors around the Trop. It's high time to do something about that as well. The place should be alive with hot dog and peanut vendors BEFORE you get into the ballpark.
would this event be dog friendly??
Here's a link to a video about Florida Food Trucks. Kristy Andersen

Hyde Park Presbyterian Church: 1309 W. Swann Ave, Tampa.

It says at the top it's in Hyde park. I'm guessing in the village where everything is. I'm sure there is no $ fee bc it's in a park. And it starts at 11. Really not that complicated
Sheesh, how about some details! As in, where is this Food Truck Rally (aside from the vicinity of Swann Ave.)? Is there an admission fee and it's all-you-can-eat, or do you pay per order? Does it start at 11? Recommended parking?
the killer samich truck link doesnt work. file not found
It was at Bern's Fine Wines and Spirits for retail sale, alas it is sold out now. Try Whole Foods on Dale Mabry.
Is Casatica available in the Tampa Bay area?
Bring on more food trucks!
HELL YEA!!!
Another point that is completely missed on the salt part is salts like sea salt and other "fancy salts" have a larger surface area then table salt so when used as seasoning like sprinkling salt on top of something, you use less then table salt this taking in less sodium.
19 is WAY to old for Cub Scouts...
Re: “Food truck owners struggle to do business in St. Pete”
I am a 49 year native of St Pete and can honestly say this the most hostile city for ANY business start up. My mother moved here from California in 1960, and was always fond of saying St Pete, and Florida in general, are THE most half ass backwards of this entire country!! My heart and prayers go out to ALL of you hard workers!!!
