Blur announce first album in 12 years, The Magic Whip, share lyric video for "Go Out"

Damon Albarn and co. drop their eighth album on Apr. 28

Announced earlier today from a press conference in a London Chinese restaurant (happy New Year!), Blur will release their first album in 12 years, The Magic Whip, due out April 27 internationally and April 28 in the U.S.

Along with the announcement, they’ve released the lyric video to a new track “Go Out.” After a cursory listen, this sounds like what most would expect, and want, from a beloved mid-'90s Britpop band: a simple, repetitive hook sandwiched between sleepy vocals, loads of fuzzed-out feedback and an easily danceable beat that could find a nice home on terrestrial rock radio, or whatever’s left of it.
