There are definitely a plethora of images that come to mind, but now the St. Petersburg-based quartet has given the beast a sound by releasing the title track from their forthcoming Jagorilla LP. Recorded at St. Pete's Rock Garden Recording and mastered by New Alliance East, the LP finds the band's current lineup — including longtime keyboardist Ariel Cortes, drummer Danny Piechocki, and bassist Brian Schanck — ripping through nine tracks of Zulu Wave's now-trademark high-energy, noise-addled rock & roll.
"Danny and Brian bring a whole bunch of energy and life into the music," wrote Barrow, 26. "They took the band into a whole new sonic territory and gave us the extra push to make a fulllength."
The band will celebrate the new record on September 27 with an album release at Attic Records (910 5th Ave. N, St. Petersburg). Wolf-Face, Redfeather, and Archaic Interest will play support. Doors are at 8 p.m., and every paid admission ($7 advance, $10 at the door) gets a download of the LP. A limited number of cassettes will be available at the show, and vinyl is set to arrive sometime in October.
