El-P and Killer Mike announce new Run The Jewels album, share first track, "Blockbuster Night"

Zack de la Rocha, Travis Barker and others enlisted for new album out October 28.

El-P and Killer Mike, the two-headed hip-hop monster known as Run the Jewels, have announced the follow-up album to their excellent 2013 debut Run the Jewels. Thoughtfully titled RTJ2, the new album will be released via CD, LP and digitally on October 28 via Nas' Mass Appeal Records. To commemorate the occasion, they've dropped a full version of the track "Blockbuster Night Pt. 1," which you can check out below.

It's standard fare for the duo - so, pretty much an instant banger. Driven by a menacing pulse of grimy bass triplets and back-and-forth verses between Mike and El that are about as senseless as they are incredible, "Blockbuster Night" balances oddball production with tough, traditional delivery for a sound that's a whole new animal in itself. Plus, I could probably listen to Killer Mike rhyme "oodles" and "noodles" like, a bajillion times and not get tired of it.

Rage Against the Machine frontman Zack de la Rocha and Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker have also been confirmed to appear on RTJ2. Furthermore, the Jewels boys are scheduled to drop a new single for the Adult Swim Singles Program on September 15.
