Update:Daddy Kool sent CL an email saying pre-sale tickets sold out in less than 30 minutes. There's also been a slight adjustment in ticket price ($2 increase, making them $29.50-$34), but we guess you'll manage.
Two days before they arrive in St. Petersburg, Brand New are playing a co-headlining date with Modest Mouse in Queens, N.Y., and while we’re certainly annoyed that we’re too broke to fly there and back on a whim, we'll settle for the fact that the Long Island post-hardcore outfit follows up that date by kicking off the second leg of their fall campaign in sunny St. Pete on October 26 at Jannus Live.
The band — fronted by Jesse Lacey — hasn’t release a proper album since 2009’s Daisy, but that probably won’t stop loyal fans (who've been singing “Jude law and a Semester Abroad” and “Sic Transit Gloria...Glory Fades” for the better part of a decade now) from flocking to The ‘Burg anyway. By our count the band hasn't been to the Bay area since they played a support slot for Thrice during a November 2009 appearance at The Ritz in Ybor City.
Tickets to the Sun., Oct. 26, show at Jannus Live are
$27.50-$32 $29.50-$34 and go on sale this Thursday, May 22, at noon. A presale is happening via Ducat King right now, and more information is available here. Relieve your adolescence by playing “Seventy Times 7” below. Read Joel's take on that 2009 set here.
