What was your initial reaction to being asked to be on something called The Lust List?
I was kind of surprised. I was flattered; it’s always a privilege to be featured in or work with CL.

What’s the best part about being a hip-hop artist in Tampa Bay?
You’re getting to express yourself and do what you love, in a place that’s big enough to have a city feel but small enough to have a sense of community. I moved here seven years ago and Tampa really embraced me; now I’m touring the world. And everyone here is rooting for me – they are so supportive.

What do you enjoy doing besides making and playing music?
I’ve been working out a lot lately – boot camp style. I like to dance and flex my muscles in the mirror; I do that all over the house, every time I pass a mirror, I have to flex, see how the work out is working.

What are a few of your favorite love songs?
Beyoncé, “Partition” is a good track. Teddy Pendergrass, “When Somebody Loves You,” Chrisette Michele, “A Couple of Forevers.”

Your favorite album or artist to set a romantic mood?
Marsha Ambrosius.

Any of your own tracks inspired by love, lust, or an object of desire? Which one?
I have a song out on the new album now called, “Body Heat,” that’s a good lusty sort of song.

How did you meet your last boyfriend?
At a show, of course.

Have you ever dated a guy who wasn’t into music?
No.

Stupidest pick-up line you’ve heard?
At a show a few weeks ago, someone said to me, “Hey girl, let me get your phone number so I can connect with you on Facebook.” I was like, wait, how does that work?

Excluding rent or bills, where does most of your disposable income go?
Food.

Favorite place in town to eat?
I actually really like Stone Soup.

Best place you’ve been taken on a date in Tampa Bay?
My 21st birthday, my boyfriend at the time planned a spa day – it was my first real spa experience – and we went on a helicopter ride. That was when I was still in New York.

What was your first concert?
Mos Def.

What’s the most memorable gig you’ve played?
Oh, there’s a lot of them – 2008 here, at Crowbar, with Little Brother, that was my first big introduction to Tampa, that was like my launching pad. And opening for Black Star, Mos Def and Talib, then taking them to Ol’ Dirty Sundays afterwards. KRS-One called me up on stage after I opened his show. He was like “Dynasty, you want some of this?”

What’s your favorite vacation spot? What about a place you’ve always wanted to travel to, and why?
I like to go out on the beaches here, Honeymoon Island, Madeira Beach.

What’s one thing about you that may come as a surprise to people who don’t know you very well?
I’m actually a bit of a homebody, surprising because I’m pretty social when I’m out and about. My favorite place to be is to be is home.

What’s the one thing you most hope to accomplish this year?
I want to tour nationally this year, because I’ve been overseas for the third time in a week, but I haven’t toured in the States yet.

Turn-ons:
I like a driven guy, an artistic creative self-motivated man, down to earth, can handle his business but also has a playful side.

Turn-offs:
Know it alls, smokers, liars.

How old are you?
Not telling. It’s my one secret.
