The third album of surf-garage pop from the California outfit co-led by singer-songwriter Bethany Cosentino and multi-instrumentalist Bobb Bruno; this is the debut on Cosentino's Jewel City label. According to reports, Best Coast's latest is a faster-paced set of tracks taking inspiration from Mazzy Star, Patsy Cline, My Bloody Valentine and Ambien. The original project, Gayngs, had producer/musician Ryan Olson at its core with a huge cast of guests and rotating musicians, which included ethereal vocalist/songstress Channy Leaneagh. The pair broke off and formed ambient R&B-electro outfit Poliça, issued a debut LP, Give You the Ghost, and have carried on since. This is their sophomore effort. "Chain My Name" below.
