ASAP Mob, TBA (ASAP Worldwide/Polo Grounds/RCA)
The Avett Brothers, Magpie and the Dandelion (Republic Records)
North Carolina's favored brothers-led Americana/folk rock sextet issue an eighth studio album and Rick Rubin is back for a third time around. The songs on Magpie were apparently recorded at the same time as 2012's The Carpenter. I read the word 'smooth' in the first few reviews I looked up of this thing, so not sure about what this means for the turn this band is taking. First Listen at NPR; video for "Another Is Waiting" below.
Courtney Barnett, The Double EP: A Sea of Split Peas (House Anxiety/Marathon Artists)
Jon Batiste and Stay Human, Social Music (Razor & Tie)
Beats Antique, A Thousand Faces, Act 1 (Beats Antique Records)
