If this weren't enough, a yearly trip to Cannes Film Festival will be established, so students get their hands dirty trying to arrange internships in one of the best film markets worldwide. The full curriculum and schedule is available here. Some classes will be taught by top-level Hollywood guest lecturers, like the festival does at its workshops.
Also, there’s a Film Crew Boot camp at only $40 per class. It teaches the ins and outs of being a good crew member on a film or TV set. Students learn the rules, terminology and equipment in a six-hour Saturday session (Aug. 31, Sept. 28 and Oct. 26).
Housed in St. Petersburg, Indie Studios is at 1776 11th Ave. N, St. Petersburg. It's a fully equipped sound stage, lighting, grip, electric and cinematography facility that has emerged as the Film institute home.
An informational Open House will be held at the studios on Fri., July 19, from 6 to 9 p.m. Cash beer and wine bar, plus light hors d'oeuvres, will be available. Everyone is welcome to check out the studio and learn more about the program.
