Downtown Tampa's Duckweed Urban Market, an oasis of fresh produce, cheese, meat, wine and beer, recently moved and expanded into the adjacent Element building (803 N. Tampa St., Tampa, 813-221-3825).

"We were at 600 feet and now we have 2,500 square feet," said co-owner Michelle Deatherage (she and her husband own Duckweed). "We have a kitchen, lounge area, and way more wine and beer."

Soon, customers will be able to purchase wine and beer, and enjoy them onsite.

"People can come and buy some cheese or beer and enjoy them here," Deatherage said. "And not have to pay restaurant prices."

Duckweed will also offer à la carte sandwiches, salads and soups. When the kitchen is complete, takeout will also be available. Duckweed won last year's Best of the Bay award for Best Little Local Grocery store.
