Barbarella Tampa shacks up with The Social

If you haven’t heard already, two of the more talked about dance clubs in Ybor City have now integrated their best nights into one location. Barbarella Tampa, formerly on Seventh Avenue, has relocated its popular Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday nights to the Ybor City Social Club, a nightspot that's been a favorite in the GLBT scene and will still maintain its popular Thursday night event.
Independent Bar Group (Barbarella Austin, Barbarella Tampa, and Independent Bar Orlando) have to decided to collaborate with Florida Entertainment Group (G.Bar, The Honey Pot, The Social) by pooling their collectively more formidable nights into the cozier and more centrally located Ybor City Social Club building.
As said, the Social’s ever crazy College Night on Thursdays will continue and the club will continue having private parties on the lower floor at this time but Barbarella will take over the upstairs Wednesdays with its monthly events ('90s Night, Electro Head/Goth/Industrial), Indie Disco Fridays, and New Wave Old Wave Saturdays.
Insanely fabulous drink specials will remain the norm on all nights, as will some of the warmest and friendliest bar staff in dance club history. Management also anticipates having some underground punk shows in the future as well as many other notable events.
Word of the unprecedented coupling has gotten out amongst the avid bar hoppers of western Ybor, so expect The Ybor City Social Club to become a more prominent staple on the Tampa music scene menu.
