Nuclear Cowboyz — Nuclear Cowboyz, the only high octane-fueled theatrical freestyle motocross touring production in North America,, is coming to the Tampa Bay Times Forum this weekend for three shows: Friday, Feb. 15 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 16, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 17, at 2 p.m. This event is a mix between the X-Games, a Kiss concert, Cirque du Soleil and a Pussycat Dolls show in Vegas. Basically, you have some of the world's top motorcross riders risking their lives in extreme, non-stop action, complete with laser lights, pyro and special effects, rock music, flips and jumps on bikes and quads, dancers and acrobats. I went to the show last year and it is well worth the price of admission. It isn't as loud as the Monster Truck Show, but it is a pure adrenaline rush. Tickets for Nuclear Cowboyz at the Tampa Bay Times Forum start at $10 for teens. They are on sale at all Ticketmaster outlets, the Tampa Bay Times Forum Box Office, online at ticketmaster.com, or charge by phone at 800-745-3000.
Rays Fan Fest — The 2013 Rays Fan Fest presented by MetroPCS, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 16, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Tropicana Field, is being touted as the best of the best for this free event, which has consistently provided fans with a whole slew of things to do inside Tropicana Field. Considering how cold it will be this weekend, the typical amount of exhaustion and heat that generally materializes because of the whole slew of patrons milling about won't be as bad. All kidding aside, though, the people over at One Tropicana Place say this festive gathering will feature an unmatched amount of interaction with Rays players and coaches along with numerous activities for kids. D.J. Kitty will be there, the baseball sage known as Peter Gammons will conduct a panel discussion of sorts, and kids can take their shoes off to race against each other on the idyllic blades of artificial turf and old tire bits. Oh yeah, and fans have the chance to have their favorite Rays TV and radio broadcasters and more than 25 former major league players sign autographs for free throughout the day. As far as the actual Rays players? Fans have the option to purchase a $50 wristband which grants the opportunity to get autographs from Rays players. All proceeds benefit the ALS Association Florida Chapter. If you choose this option, prepare yourself to stand in line between 30 minutes and 1 1/2 hours, depending on when you arrive. All in all, though, it's a grand ol' time. And you might want to attend this year because who knows where the team will be playing next season. Charlotte, anyone?
