William Dean caramels are downright sexy

Here in the Tampa bay area, we already know the gospel of William Dean Chocolates. CL's food critic, Jon Palmer Claridge, gave them a rare five star rating in his July review.

We also know that the Hunger Games took note of William Dean's chocolatey talents, with hundreds of their delectable bites appearing in the movie series.

Today, out of 27 caramels from around the country that the New York Times' foodies tested, they chose a Top 10 for Valentine's Day recommendations. William Dean made the list.

The NYT described William Dean's salted caramel chocolate as "downright sexy," and "the gently flavored, just salted enough caramel erupts from its wafer-like shell in the best possible way. The caramel is on the sweeter side, without crossing the line into cloying."

We agree. Luckily, we don't have to go very far to get these "downright sexy" chocolate caramels. They're right in our backyard.
