Green Bench Brewing Company will be the first microbrewery in St. Petersburg, securing a brewery location in a brick warehouse at 1134 First Ave. N.
The Tampa Bay Times reported Friday that brewers Nathan Stonecipher (hubby of MisRed fashion maven Sarah Stonecipher) and Steven Duffy are opening inside the 1925 7,200 square-foot building sometime this summer.
According to the article, Green Bench will have a 2,000 square-foot tasting room, a production area for brewing equipment, and a beer garden outdoor patio.
"I think this city is ready for it," Steven Duffy told the Times. "It's shocking that there has never been one before. The reaction we've gotten from friends and family as well as strangers has all been positive."
Duffy and Stonecipher hired brewmaster Matt Manthe who studied microbiology at Clemson University and studied brewing in Berlin.
They've got ten different signature ales planned, with quart and gallon growlers available for take home in addition to tasting room pints.
