Ladies can rock out to the tunes of local favorites Waking Giants, Shut Up Lita, and The Sexual Side Effects tonight at the Local 662 in St. Pete. Meagan towers emcees and the lovely Amarie will provide a sizzling burlesque performance. Doors open at 8 p.m. and cover is $5 until 9 p.m. and $8 after that.


G-bar in Ybor City hosts its annual toy drive, "Party for Presents," tomorrow, Saturday, Dec. 8 at 8:30 p.m. Anyone who shows up with an unwrapped toy donation gets free admission, food, dessert, and drink specials. Last year, the club collected more than 1,000 toys. Toys collected will be donated to Community Pride Child Care and Champions for Children.


That same night, Gaybor District hosts its holiday bar crawl starting at 5 p.m. at Gaspar's Grotto. The $15 admission shrit gets you a free shot at each venue. Shirts are available at MC Film, Bradley's and Hamburger Mary's.


And m.a.d. Theatre presents "A Snowglobe Fabaret" from 8 to 10 p.m. at Metro Wellness Community Center in Tampa. All proceeds will benefit both m.a.d. and Metro Wellness. Reservations are required. Call 813-386-6173 for more information.


In St. Pete that night, the L Train bar hosts "Erotic Ornaments and Holiday Bash," a holiday costume party and festive live body painting display. Doors open at 7 p.m.


Also tomorrow night, TwirlGirl Events and Promotions presents its Holiday Booze Cruise for women from 6 to 8 p.m. The two-hour venture begins around sunset at the Tampa Museum of Art and passes through downtown Tampa with spectacular views along the Hillsborough River, including Channelside and Harbor Island. Space is limited to 25 passengers. Reserve a spot for $25 per person by e-mailing [email protected].


And if you're looking for something to do on Sunday, Meagan Towers hosts Bitchy Bingo from 7 to 10 p.m. at St. Pete's newest LGBT-friendly hotspot, The Broken Tusk.


If theater is your thing this weekend, catch "Dixie's Tupperware Party" at the Straz Center's Jaeb Theatre tonight and tomorrow, the last two days of the show's run. Dixie Longate, the fast-talking Tupperware lady, has packed up her catalogues, and left her children in an Alabama trailer park to journey across the country. Join Dixie as she throws a good ol' fashioned Tupperware party filled with outrageously funny tales, heartfelt accounts, free giveaways, audience participation, and the most fabulous assortment of Tupperware ever sold on a theater stage. Shows are at 8 p.m. tonight, and 2 and 8 p.m. on Saturday.



Or if you're on the other side of the bridge, American Stage kicks off its run of the hilarious "The Santaland Diaries," written by David Sedaris, tonight. The show runs through Dec. 24, but tonight and tomorrow are pay-what-you-can nights.

With the holiday season upon us, there's plenty of festive LGBT events in the Tampa Bay area to choose from this weekend.

Tonight, Friday, Dec. 7, the Gaybor District celebrates the season with its fifth annual holiday party from 7 to 9 p.m. at Bradley's on 7th in Ybor City. The group's holiday decorating contest winners will be announced, and an amazing show starts at 8 p.m.

Frenchie Davis, star of American Idol and The Voice, performs live at The Honey Pot tonight. She'll perform her new single "Love's Got a Hold on Me" and more. Doors open at 10 p.m., with no cover until 10:30 p.m., and only $5 after that.
