A week ahead of Thanksgiving, there are lots of food and drink events out in the Tampa Bay area, many benefiting local charities too. Be sure to get out to some of the great things happening in our community.

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 12:

FOOD FOR THE SOUL, A FARM TO FORK EVENT
Ella's Folk Art Cafe hosts a meal made from locally sourced ingredients! Contributing farmers include: permaculturalist Willow LaMonte, Nate and Charlie of Gnarly Farms (Seminole Heights), and Kevin from Glory Road Farms. Proceeds from the dinner and post-meal drinks benefit the Green Springs market and delivery service and Community Stepping Stones, both helping the Sulphur Springs neighborhood. $60, 5:30 p.m., 5119 N. HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS

Catch a preview of Whole Foods' Thanksgiving menu, paired with holiday wines. From bread, to pie, to spicy sage stuffing, Whole Foods is a one-stop-show for Thanksgiving. The tasting will be held throughout the store. FREE. 6-8 p.m. 1548 N. Dale Mabry, Tampa, 813-874-9435.

ACOUSTIC BARBECUE SERIES
New World Brewery and Thx Mgmt's Wednesday night acoustic music and BBQ series, features Chris Otepka (Heligoats and Troubled Hubble) this week. Grab a plate of Bird's famous $5 chicken plates and take in some free live music. FREE. 7-9 p.m. 1313 E. Eighth Ave., Tampa, 813-248-4969.


THREE PALMS KEEP THE PINT NIGHT
Three Palms Brewing presents a keep the pint glass night on site at the brewery. For $10, you'll get two tickets good for two pints of Three Palms beer and keep your logo pint glass. $10. 6-9 p.m. 1509 Hobbs St., Tampa, 888-813-4856.

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 15:

FEAST THREE
Creative Pinellas and Keep St. Petersburg Local present a night of food and microfunding at the Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg. Sample food from BellaBrava, Meze 119, Sab Cafe, Tryst Gastro Lounge and more. Each ticket comes with a ballot that allows you to vote on who gets the money raised during the event. Cocktails at 6:30 p.m., presentations from grant contenders start at 7 p.m. One hundred percent of the proceeds go to the ambitious and exciting arts projects based in St. Petersburg. $20 (available here). 6:30-8:30 p.m. 255 Beach Drive NE, St. Petersburg, 727-896-2667.

HOLIDAY CHEESE TASTING
The cheese experts in Whole Foods specialty department are ready to teach you about special holiday cheeses. Learn about stuffed bries and how to make the perfect holiday cheese plate. HOLIDAY HERBAL ELIXIRS
Body and Mind Enrichment's Emily Wenzel teaches you how to make special holiday elixirs like spicy cinnamon and elderberry and more from her stocked home kitchen. Taste them with alcohol, spicy cinnamon and elderberry brandy, or without (pomegranate goji berry and peppermint spritzer). Or make your own concoction to take home for the holidays. SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 17:

JUICING 101
What's up with all these juice cleanses people are doing and why should you care? Learn about cleanses, home juicing and why it's really good for your health from the local juicing gurus at Squeeze Juice Works. Check out a live juicing, and taste the fruits (or veggies) of the labor hosted at the First Unity campus Friendship hall. CUSTOMER APPRECIATION DAY
Mid Peninsula Seafood Market and Restaurant wants to thank customers for 35 years of business. YBOR CITY HERITAGE AND CIGAR FESTIVAL

Over a hundred years ago, Ybor City was a bustling cigar-making metropolis. Come and see what Cigar City is all about at the Heritage and Cigar Festival at Ybor Square. Local and national cigar vendors, plus live cigar rolling demonstrations. A kid's zone with games and crafts, historic architecture tour, food trucks and craft beer and wine. $5 in advance, $10 at the gate. VIP $60 in advance, $80 at the gate. PLANT CITY PIG JAM
Plant City's tenth annual Pig Jam State BBQ Championship takes place this Saturday with more than 70 teams competing from across the country. The Kansas City Barbeque Society sanctioned competition boasts barbecue ribs, pork, brisket, and chicken. Plus, roasted corn, gator, funnel cakes, jalapeno poppers, and stuffed potatoes. A large Big Green Egg grill package and 50-quart Yeti cooler will be given away as well. Stay into the evening for the Strawberry Classic Car Festival. Pig Jam proceeds benefit the Greater Plant City Chamber of Commerce’s Scholarship Fund and other programs. FREE. Parking $5. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Randy L. Larson Softball Four-Plex, 1500 S.
