Celebrate all things India with celebrity guests, nigthttime cricket games, comedy, food, vendors and a lot more. Headliners include stand-up comic Dan Nainan and Bollywood star Pooja Batra (pictured).

The 25th Annual India Festival organizers are introducing the sport of cricket, another Indian tradition, to the celebration at the Florida State Fairgrounds. For the first time at the India Festival, “Twenty20” matches will be played at the Bob Thomas Equestrian Center inside the Gran Prix Ring.

Interesting sports fact: Tampa Bay has more than 85 cricket teams. Players from those teams have been selected to make two teams to play the matches, a total of 26 players. Twenty20 games are completed in three hours, and each of the innings lasting from 75-90 minutes. The matches will be played on a clay surface using a hardball, other than a softball, that is played on a grass field.

Cricket will start at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, and will continue to 2:30 Sunday morning. Admission to the cricket matches is included in the India Festival admission. India Festival admission starts at $7 and will open on Fri., Nov. 2, at 6 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 3, at 10:30 a.m.

Festivities all day and evening throughout the weekend. $15. Nov. 2-3. USF Sun Dome, 4202 E. Fowler Ave., Tampa, 813-974-3002. For complete schedule, visit indiafestivaltampa.com.
