Angra, Best Reached Horizons (Steamhammer/SPV)

Andrew Bird, Hands of Glory (Mom + Pop)
The whistling troubadour — who stopped here earlier this month — issues his second album in 2012, an eight-song "musical companion" to Break It Yourself recorded live with a small band around a single microphone placed in a barn, and made up of of old country cover tunes and re-arrangements of tracks from the aforementioned album. Black Country Communion, Afterglow (J&R Adventures)
The classic rock n' roll revivalist supergroup features bassist Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple, Trapeze), guitarist Joe Bonamassa, drummer Jason Bonham (son of the late John), and keys player Derek Sherinian (Alice Cooper, Dream Theater); this is their third studio album.

Cody ChesnuTT, Landing On A Hundred (Vibration Vineyard)
The '60s soul revivalist presents his sophomore LP, recorded in both Cologne, Germany and Al Green's old studio in Memphis, Tenn., and funded via a successful Kickstarter.com campaign that raised him more than $22k. Check out "Everybody's Brother" below, a performance of a track off the album he presented as part of the campaign.
