My man on the streets of NY, GOX, managed to grab some pics of Robert De Niro shooting his next film — the Luc Besson-helmed Malavita — on the streets of Brooklyn. GOX lives in Greenpoint, a popular neighborhood for feature film production, and has previously captured stills of The Bounty Hunter, The Sitter and the original Spider-Man (Raimi's, not Webb's) all right outside his house. (He did had to hike a little to get these shots of the Boardwalk Empire production.)
Keep reading for more shots of De Niro and some vintage wheels parked on the street as set dressing …
And now for some vintage wheels:
UPDATE ADDED 10/15/12 at 4 p.m.: GOX filled me in on the back story to these photos: "The funny thing about these pics is that we were just heading to breakfast when we saw the film shoot. I did not expect to see De Niro and was a bit star struck. The guy looks totally bad ass in person. He gave me a look that seemed to say, "I'm gonna cut your head off and shit down your throat and fuck your eye sockets if you don't stop right now." So, I stopped."
So there you have it: Move to NY, go out for breakfast, stumble upon angry movie stars working right outside your door who might cut you if provoked. No wonder the property values are so high.
