Mitch Perry Report: Romney on the rise in Florida

Plus: Argo inaccuracies, an NFL update and more …

Public Policy Polling has a new survey out in Florida that shows that Mitt Romney is in a statistical tie with Barack Obama in Florida, but clearly has the "big mo," garnering five percentage points in the race in the past three weeks.

Yesterday on CNN, former Florida Republican Party Chair Al Cardenas was sounding super confident about Romney's chances in the Sunshine State, telling Candy Crowley he thinks the race ultimately may not be close here in Florida.

Naturally, Democrats disagree. Former Tampa mayoral candidate and now an official in the Commerce Department, Frank Sanchez, visited his hometown over the weekend to stump for the president. He's expecting big things for Obama in tomorrow night's debate scheduled on Long Island.

Over the weekend brought the release of the new Ben Affleck critically acclaimed film, Argo, a look back at the little-known story of six Americans who were were able to escape out of Iran during the hostage crises in 1980, while their colleagues remained kidnapped for another year. Although much of the story is accurate, not all of it is.

This is always the golden time for sports fans with pro football, college football and the baseball post-season at full intensity. As a San Francisco native, however, yesterday sucked.
