Gloria Steinem is coming to the 'Burg.

On Monday, I Am Choice announced that the writer and feminist will headline its Saturday, Oct. 20, Get Out The Vote Unplugged rally against Amendment 6 (read more about the amendment here). The rally takes place at Jannus Live in St. Pete and features Steinem along with Congresswoman Kathy Castor, Rep. Rick Kriseman, and congressional candidate Jessica Ehrlich.

"This Get Out The Vote rally celebrates our ability to use our voice and our vote in the upcoming election to make decisive change and move our community and country forward. The event will also focus on the importance of voting "down the ballot," specifically informing voters about several local, state and federal candidates, voting NO on all 11 Amendments, Yes to retention of the three Supreme Court Justices, and Yes on the Teacher’s Referendum in Pinellas County," explained Ayele Hunt, Executive Director of I Am Choice.

Steinem — who cofounded Ms. Magazine, which just celebrated its 40th anniversary — wrote an infamous expose on the ins and outs of being a Playboy bunny. She also cofounded the National Women's Political Caucus in 1972, has written essays and books, and has lectured around the world. Her current project is Road to the Heart: America As If Everyone Mattered, a book about her life on the road as a feminist organizer.

Other confirmed speakers include: Shawna Vercher (president of My America); Rev Dr. Manuel L. Sykes (president of NAACP-St Pete and reverend at Bethel Community Baptist Church); Mary Lou Ambrose (candidate, FL State House District 66); Dwight Dudley (candidate, FL State House District 68); Laila Abdelaziz (regional director for Emerge USA); Steve Kornell (St Petersburg City Council Member, District 5); and Ayele B. Hunt (executive director, I Am Choice).

The event is free. Doors open at 11:30 a.m., and the rally is from noon-3 p.m. Jannus Live: 200 First Ave. N. Doors open at 11:30 a.m.
