It's true, there is a national taco day and it is Thursday, October 4. There are several area locations celebrating that goodness-filled tortilla.

Tijuana Flats is doing $2 tacos all day. That excludes speciality tacos and there's a 50 cent surcharge for steak and carnitas. Still, it's two bucks for a big ass taco from T-flats.

Taco Bus posted this on their Facebook page this morning: "Today is NATIONAL TACO DAY! In 1520, the conquistador Hernando Cortez wrote to King Charles V of Spain to describe his experiences in the New World. In his letter he mentioned a delicious meal the Aztec inhabitants prepared with “tlaxcalli” or “tortilla.” It is the first historical reference to tacos!"

We'll continue to add promotions throughout the day as we find them.
