Ask Dream Momma: Hit by a big-time challenge

“Dear Dream Momma, I was swimming through a tsunami with someone holding my hand before me, I was so worried how we were going to make it. This person said: "Trust me, hold my hand, and when I tell you, hold your breath and we're going into the base at the bottom and come through the other side". I remember trusting and following directions ... I was not afraid.”

Awesomeness, dear dreamer. This is a wonderful, affirming dream. Let me tell you why. First, the person whose hand you are holding is another aspect of yourself; a part, if you will, of your unknown psyche. The part that trusts all the other parts. How cool is that? Try to imagine how many more there are. It’s mind-boggling.

That’s wonderful because this dream also demonstrates the trust you have in yourself, in your instincts and the deeper truth that that trust demonstrates. This indicates an early and strong “holding environment” when you were a kid. In other words, a good Mom, a Mom who guided you and was there for you as needed rather than an emotionally absent or controlling one. Lucky you!

It also reveals the courage you have to take the necessary risks to continue to grow as a person, whatever the challenge. Not easy to come by these days.

So, what does this all mean to your conscious world? Beyond the warm, fuzzy, affirmation it may indicate you are facing an overwhelming catastrophic challenge that will require all your parts to trust each other. Or the dream may foretell an event something like that. Whatever the timing is, rest assured you can handle it.
