According to the ASPCA, five to seven million animals enter animal shelters nationwide every year. Help a furry friend out Thursday, August 9, at the Downtown St. Petersburg World of Beer. Yappy Hour at World of Beer will benefit Pet Pals Animal Shelter, a no-kill non-profit in St. Petersburg. Bring your pups and enjoy fine craft beers, live music, and raffles. Dog treats for man's best friend. For every dog-related named beer you order, World of Beer will donated $1 to Pet Pals.

Looking to adopt? There will be adoptable dogs at the event. Adoptions are $150, and all Pet Pals dogs come spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date with vaccines and shots, dewormed and vet checked, and with a county license. Should you fall in love with some fuzzy-faced dog at the event, Pet Pals will hold your future pet until the morning so you can get everything in order.

Yappy Hour is Thursday, August 9, 6-9 p.m. at 100 Fourth St. S, St. Petersburg, 727-823-2337.
