Some random thoughts on a rainy Wednesday morning...according to a report in Buzzfeed, Mitt Romney advisers say the "gloves are off" in the presidential race, and that means we'll be hearing more about Barack Obama's confessed drug use when he was a youth...The New York Post is reporting that Chris Christie will be giving the keynote address at the RNC in Tampa next month....Christie has never been discussed as being in the top-tier of VP candidates, and after reading this New York Times story, you'll know why...speaking of the VP sweepstakes, the narrative (promoted because of one line in a New York Times story on Monday) that Romney might select his VP this week seems to be fading, but is that the reason why the Tampa Bay Times gives us their story about why Marco Rubio won't be the #2 in an above the fold story today? Not a whole lot of new news in there...if you're not doing anything tomorrow night in St. Pete, come on by Studio@620, where this reporter will be interviewing Democratic Congressional candidate Jessica Ehrlich at 7PM.
Ehrlich's opponent this fall in Pinellas County, Bill Young, seems to be taking the proposal about raising the minimum wage a bit more serious than he did two weeks ago.
40 days from the RNC, the Tampa Host Committee held a conference call yesterday informing of some new developments happening with the event in the next few weeks.
And Link TV is offering a chance for one of their viewers the chance to be a reporter in Tampa and Charlotte, covering both political conventions.
