A group of high-profile lesbians — including Jane Lynch, Billie Jean King and Chicago Cubs co-owner Laura Ricketts — have formed LPAC, a super PAC focused on increasing the political power of the lesbian community. The group will provide financial backing to pro-lesbian candidates, whether Democrats or Republicans, male or female, gay or straight, and hope to raise at least $1 million for the upcoming elections.

The Episcopal Church approved a churchwide blessing of same-sex couples. This blessing — "The Witnessing and Blessing of a Lifelong Covenant" — includes an exchange of rings and vows, and was approved by the House of Bishops 111-41. In a separate vote, the Episcopal convention also voted to include new anti-discrimination language for transgender church members and clergy.

Massachusetts' Democratic U.S. Rep. and champion of LGBT rights Barney Frank wed his longtime partner, James Ready, this past weekend. This makes Frank the first sitting congressman to enter into a same-sex marriage.
