This Sat., April 28, the usually sleepy little municipality of Deland's scenic Historic Downtown District will shake, rock, roll, groove, and move with more than 150 acts from all over Florida (and beyond) playing on 28 stages throughout the Old Florida town. From 1 p.m. to 1 a.m., on stages large and small, solo performers and bands deliver sets of rock, folk, blues, Americana, jazz, punk, ska, electronica, hip hop, country, and more. Participating Tampa Bay area bands include Johnnycakes & the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypso, Exit 44, The Stereotypes, Victims of Circumstance, Conscious Shift, and Fight Another Day, as well as solo artists Michael Nichols, Frankie Raye, and Steve Vaclavik. Tickets are $10 advance, $15 DOS; Deland is located about 2½ hours northeast of Tampa (and this music festival is well worth the drive.) Visit www.ssa.cc/delandapalooza for more information.
