Photo Review: Wanee Music Festival, Three Days of Peace and Music all over again

Posted by on Tue, Apr 24, 2012 at 11:26 AM

With an all-star lineup of the old and new, the Wanee Music Festival was a joy to attend this past weekend in bucolic Live Oak, Fla. From Buddy Guy's guitar shredding solos to Gregg Allman's mournful vocals, I was in music heaven, though I must say at times, I felt as if I'd been teleported back to the tie-dyed days of Woodstock circa 1969. But it wasn't just middle-aged hippies in attendance - by my guesstimate, the majority of the well-behaved crowd was under 30.

Overall, the weather cooperated and the bands went on as scheduled with just a few minor hiccups. Festival organizers did an excellent job of providing just about anything one could need to make the weekend smooth and enjoyable. There was plenty of parking, a zillion different vendors and dozens of helpful staff.

Peace and music all over again! More photos after the jump....
