More presidential primaries tonight in the South, y'all!
Alabama and Mississippi hold elections tonight, and the polls show a tight three-way race in both states. But to us the big story is that not only is Mitt Romney looking extremely competitive in supposedly hostile territory, his general election chances look better every time gas prices go up.
St. Petersburg House Republican Jeff Brandes won a tough contest against Bill Heller two years ago. Right now he's looking pretty good for re-election in a competitive district. On Friday liberal activists unhappy about how he's governed in the past two legislative sessions will protest at his local office on 4th Street.
And Kevin White is going to jail. Not more to add to that.
