It would be stating the obvious to say that Mitt Romney is the favorite of the GOP establishment and in the past month Herman Cain has become the Tea Party/anti-establishment candidate.
But if you didn't know that already, you would be by seeing all of the Florida Republican legislators who are flocking to support Romney, and how many non-elected officials are getting behind Cain.
Perhaps the most interesting case if Rick Baker. The former St. Petersburg Mayor was a statewide chair for Mitt Romney in 2007-2008 here in Florida. When we saw the former St. Pete Mayor last month at the CPAC Florida event, part of the three-day Lollapalooza for Republicans in the Sunshine State, Baker told CL he was weighing an endorsement for Romney or Rick Perry, the then ascendant candidate who at that time was considered the Anti-Romney choice.
But everyone loves a winner, and Perry is looking like the furthest thing from that today. And Cain? Well, the Mayor didn't say a word about him to us, but that was 24 hours before the former business exec shocked the political world and took home the Presidency 5 Straw Poll.
