Miley Cyrus, who has spoken out in support of LGBT rights before, has started a Twitter war after posting a photo of her latest tattoo, an equal sign on her right ring finger, with the caption "All LOVE is equal" underneath.

Bradlee Dean, an anti-gay metal rocker and Christian broadcast preacher, has brought a $50 million defamation lawsuit against MSNBC's Rachel Maddow. Dean claims that after Maddow played a clip of him discussing how "Muslims are calling for the execution of homosexuals in America," she ridiculed him and implied his disclaimer that he "will never call for the execution of homosexuals" was disingenuous.

Fort Lauderdale is one of the first cities outside of New York to try to cash in on the state's recently enacted gay marriage law. The city's tourism bureau is touting the area as a honeymoon hotspot for gay and lesbian couples recently married in New York. Meanwhile, local hotels, spas and more are offering special packages as they clamor for the business of LGBT newlyweds.

A recent study found that homophobic comments and anti-gay behavior are commonplace in Florida schools. The 2009 National School Climate Survey by the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network found that 98 percent of students in Florida schools reported hearing the word "gay" used in a derogatory way while at school, compared to 88.9 percent nationwide. Nine in 10 students also said they regularly heard other students make negative remarks about how someone expressed their gender. Eighty-two percent of students also said they experience verbal harassment because of their sexual orientation.
