Lee House Chinese Restaurant, a popular eatery in Brandon, has re-located from Bloomingdale Avenue to State Road 60, next to Arby's in the Publix Shopping Plaza after a lease expiration on their former location, which closed on March 31st. The old Lee House location will be replaced by Latin Cafe 2000. They have replaced China Place and are transitioning the current menu to their former menu, officially re-opened on May 5th. Chef/Owner Michael Lee has been in the restaurant industry since the late 1980s and is excited to be staying in the Brandon area. Lee House is currently serving pho and pan fried noodles and some dim sum and their full menu will be available soon.

On the other side of the bay, Kaiko and Ocean Blue Sushi restaurants have merged together. Owned by the same family, Kaiko was a well-known sushi restaurant in Clearwater since it first opened in 1996 and has been frequented by celebrities, such as Hulk Hogan during its tenure. Ocean Blue Sushi opened earlier this year in the same plaza, pioneered by owner Dan Lam, son of Kaiko's owner, and has become a popular spot in Clearwater, offering late-night half-off specials on sushi and drinks (Open until 2 am Sunday-Wednesday and until 3 am Thursday-Saturday). The merger comes as the Kaiko's owner retires and hands the business over to his son.

A celebratory party of the merger will occur this Saturday, May 26th, with a DJ, karaoke, and dancing from 10pm-3am. Specials this weekend will include $2 kamikaze bombs, $3 sake bombs, and Ocean Blue's usual half-priced sushi, wells, drafts, and house wines with the purchase of a beverage.
