Fresh Markets and More at Seminole Mall- Every Thursday-Sunday; 9 am-3 pm. Fresh Markets and More is a fun-filled celebration of the world’s most popular culinary ingredients along with a selection of unique arts and crafts all located in the air conditioned corridors of the Seminole Mall. Featuring multicultural foods, fresh produce, prepared foods, gourmet baked goods, arts and crafts, music and more. Will be open every Thursday through Sunday. Five for Five at Five Wine Tasting at Whole Foods- Thursdays in September; 5-7 pm. Wine lovers, here’s an event you can enjoy while supporting a great cause. Stop by our Specialty department and enjoy a tasting of five 90+ point rated wines for only $5.00. All proceeds will be donated to our "Help Put Salad Bars In Schools" fund drive. Sierra Club National Day of Service Beach Cleanup- Saturday, September 11; 9 am-12 pm. The Sierra Club is proud to join Americans across the country volunteering on September 11 in honor and remembrance of those who bravely serve the country. The great outdoors are part of America's heritage and protecting our lands is a way to honor the National Day of Service. On September 11, we will be cleaning up one of America's best beaches, Ft. DeSoto County Park's North Beach, and planting 10,000 sea oats to better stabilize the North Beach. The sea oats will serve as a nursery for birds and other Gulf wildlife.They need everyone's help! Children are more than welcome to come join in as well (as long as they are supervised). Meeting in shelter #1 at the far end of North Beach. Starting time is 9 a.m. and the event will end at noon. Ybor Saturday Market- Every Saturday; 9 am-3 pm (year-round). You’ll be sure to find great produce at great prices, gourmet foods and sauces, fresh baked breads, fresh eggs, prepared foods, orchids, herbs and plants, pet treats, honey, unique gifts, photography, artwork, jewelry, woodworking, bath and body products, candles, and so much more. Guided Hike at Weedon Island Preserve- Every Saturday; 9-11 am. Guided hikes through coastal mangrove and upland ecosystems of the Preserve are held on most Saturdays of the month. Join us to learn about the coastal environment and the early residents of Weedon Island Preserve. Be sure to bring water and a snack for this 2-hour hike. A hat and closed-toe shoes are also recommended. Reserve your space by 2 pm on the Friday prior to the tour of choice. This event is free and open to the public. Pre-registration is required. Guided Hike at Brooker Creek Preserve- Every Saturday; 9-11 am. Take a walk through time each Saturday morning on a guided hike along the Education Center Trail. Join us for this 0.75 mile walk as we look at how the land has changed over time and discuss the ecological footprints left by those changes. Sturdy closed-toe shoes are a must, and water and a hat are recommended. Pre-registration is required by 12:00 noon on the Friday before the hike. Admission: Free.
