For the average teenage girl, the thought of walking onto a stage to perform in front of a huge crowd of people would be terrifying. For others, like Tampa’s own Suite Caroline (real name Caroline Kudelko), performing for thousands of fans seems to come naturally. She’s comfortable on the stage with her guitar and plays with the poise and confidence of a seasoned artist. Her natural talent and warm personality has earned Caroline a growing, loyal fan base and even the opportunity to share the stage with many of today’s biggest names in country music, Gretchen Wilson, Martina McBride and Charlie Daniels among them. At only 13 years old, Suite Caroline has gotten her career off to an impressive start and things have just gotten a little sweeter. (All pics by Jeff O'Kelley)

During a recent trip to Nashville, Caroline and her mother, Marie Kudelko, got the surprise of a lifetime when the prestigious William Morris Agency took an interest in the young musician. [More after the jump.]

The meeting started out somewhat bittersweet since Caroline hasn't landed the attention of a major label and according to Marie, “The Nashville office [William Morris Endeavor Entertainment] does not sign people to their agency without an existing major record deal. They told us they had only made one exception in the past, and that was for Brad Paisley.” They did ask that Caroline perform a song during the meeting to get a feel for her talent. Apparently, this was all it took to win them over, and they offered to make Suite Caroline the second unsigned artist ever signed to William Morris that day.

"I didn't think they were serious," Caroline says about her reaction to the news. "We were out to dinner. I just kind of smiled when they asked, 'Would you like to join us at William Morris?' and I said 'Sure.' I didn't really know what they meant at first. My mom was with me. I called my dad from the table and we all started crying!" Marie offered the same reaction: “We were very surprised. We had made good friendships there, but we did not think that they would make an exception and sign her.”

So, what’s in store for Suite Caroline now? According to Marie, “In the immediate future, WME will be promoting her to their current clients and promoters, which could help get her some bigger bookings.” With a powerhouse agency backing her, everything seems to indicate that this young Tampa talent may be on the fast track towards country music stardom. What advice does Caroline have for other young area hopefuls? “I guess I would say, if you think you have found your passion, be very persistent in trying to get where you would like to be. Oh, yeah, and remember to laugh -- A LOT!”
