CD review/show preview: Colleen Hart, The Rest of Me, which is presented at a release party this Saturday

While many first-time indie releases by local artists are pedestrian at best, Tampa songwriter Colleen Hart’s debut, The Rest of Me, isn’t one of them. This CD contains 12 well-written and extremely well-produced tracks delicately presented via Hart’s smooth, soulful voice. Stand out tracks include the flowing jazz number, "I’ll Wait" and the stripped-down "Overflow."
Colleen Hart has an obvious talent for songwriting and her live performance mirrors the clean, clear sound heard on her new album. Hart is definitely destined to become a talent too big for her hometown, so catch her while you can.
A CD release event is planned for 7:30 p.m. this Saturday, January 30, at The Hideaway Café in St. Petersburg.
