Tonight and throughout the hap-happiest season of all, you can go Glice Skating with Santa No, it’s not a typo; glice skating is kinda-sorta just like the real thing (you know, the changing of the leaves, a drop in temperature, snow — all the things we miss down here in sunny Florida), but instead of lacing up your skates to glide across frozen h2o, you’re sliding across “Global Synthetic Ice.” Old Saint Nick also makes an appearance to spread some holiday cheer. Visit stpete.org for more info. Dec. 9-13 and 17-23, 6-9 p.m. $5 skating, free Santa visits. North Straub Park, St. Petersburg.

Just in time to combat holiday stress and blues, Registered Yoga Teacher Dana Mildebrath leads Yoga to Manage Your Mood -- a breath-focused practice combining movement, sound, visualization and affirmation to help lift depression and ease anxiety -- in this class suitable for both experienced and novice yoga students. Visit franciscancentertampa.org for more info. Wed., Dec. 9, 7-9 p.m., The Franciscan Center, Tampa, $20.

At tonight's installment in the Outside the Box Speaker Series, Linda Taylor discusses her book Great Women Exploring Nature: How Wild Florida Influenced Their Lives. Visit tarponarts.org for more info. Wed., Dec. 9, 7 p.m., Tarpon Springs Library, Tarpon Springs.
