Here at Creative Loafing's Green Community, we often post articles on ways to green almost every aspect of your life. From food and beauty, to pets and decor, we've listed a myriad of ways to become eco-friendlier. This time, I've decided to focus on home-related issues and ways to make your home greener, inside and out. Here are some of my favorite green home tips, finds, and all-around great information.

Let's start outside:

-Solar panels are so last year. Why not install these stylish solar tiles to your roof instead?

-Want a plush lawn but hate the thought of using harmful pesticides? Check out this post on safe and sustainable lawn care solutions.

-Grow a garden that's literally green: Use these tips for care, composting, watering, and everything under the sun to help your green garden grow.

-Watering that lush lawn and verdant garden can get quite expensive. Use water wisely and install a rain barrel to catch and store water runoff from your roof, keeping your plants up and water bill down.

Now it's time to move indoors:

-A great space starts with the perfect wall color to set the feel of the room. Stop using those paints containing VOCs and breathing in their toxic fumes - start using this eco-friendly paint.

-It's time to decorate that room. Why not start with some unique recycled (or 'upcycled') pieces of furniture and decor? Also, check the fun and one-of-a-kind housewares from Green Home, Elsewares, and Uncommon Goods.

-Keeping the place clean can be a full-time job at times. Stop using household cleaners that end up putting chemicals down the drain and toxic fumes in your lungs. Try these healthy and safe, eco-friendly cleaning product alternatives or try making your own.

-Much like all of that water we waste outside on our yards, we tend to use much more inside, especially on hot water. Stop squandering water by the gallons waiting for your water heater to kick in and install one of these compact and energy efficient tankless water heaters.

-Having pesky pest problems? Read this post for environmentally friendly and more humane ways of going about getting rid of those pests.

-Many of us have furry, feathered, and fishy friends that share our hearts and homes. You've been living greener, so why shouldn't they too? Read up on green pet care and organic pet food options.

Finally, here's a list of some easy DIY projects you can do to further the process of greening your home.
