An unexpected but enthralling update from Phil Bardi of Routes Music:

Austin is a city with a long tradition of many things, from mass murders to good music. So, it's no surprise that many claim the state capital of Texas is haunted.

On Saturday, while coming down Brazos Drive in downtown Austin, I snapped some photos of Driskill Hotel.

While looking through my pictures tonight, I came upon these two similar photos:

At first glance, the pics seem to show Austin's world-famous Driskill Hotel. You can also see some lens flare visible in the shots. But if you look closer, you will undoubtedly find yourself staring right at the face of the ghost of Michael Jackson.

Ok, so maybe MJ is a stretch, but there is some strangeness going on in these photos. These are the originals; I have also presented some enlargements as well as an artist’s rendition to help make my case:

As you can see from the blown-up pictures, the glowing white orbs are very similar, but not exactly the same. In the second, it's clear that the orb is now on the outside of the building, positioning itself between the building and the camera. This can be confirmed by following the brick wall from left to right (right to left for our Jewish readers) and noticing that the light itself is never broken. In the first photo, following the wall reveals that the light source is being obscured by the brick.

This is a re-enactment of the moment Phil first saw the orb photos. (This photo is neat.)

Shocking, I know! This means that not only was the orb moving, but it was moving in the same direction as the weird light that we see in example three.

Now, when you see how the light morphed with surgical precision into the vague shape of a blindingly-white human head, the comparison to MJ is not far behind:

This photo is an artist rendition of the image Phil claimed to see, but was unable to photograph. (Enlarged, digitally-altered and awesome.)

After a little research, I realized this is no isolated occurrence. The DrisKILL Hotel is perhaps the spookiest landmark in all of Austin. From the hotel's Wiki entry:

Today the Driskill remains one of the premier hotels in Texas, featuring lavish bridal suites, two restaurants, and a grand ballroom. It is also well-known for being one of the most haunted hotels in the United States, featuring a variety of alleged supernatural activity throughout the building including the spirit of Colonel Driskill himself.

What can these orbs be? Signs of the apocalypse? Early Christmas decorations? The ghost of MJ? Your help and investigative skills are needed to get to the bottom of this case.

Routes Music is a documentary film acting as a roving music census, taking in the true musical passions (and disgusts) of the American people.
