Cook or Be Cooked -- Food Network's first video game -- hits shelves next week ... Wheee?

The Food Network's first mainstream video game -- Cook Or Be Cooked ($39.99), for the Wii -- is almost out. Just a glance at the title might make you think that it's a cooking game, likely with a nasty cannibalistic undertone probably injected by Rachael Ray's know predilection for "long pig". But no, it's both more and less than that.
Hitting stores on Nov. 3 -- you have yours pre-ordered, I assume -- Cook Or Be Cooked "is designed to teach players real, practical cooking skills using their Wii Remote and Nunchuk." That means it will have a number of Wii-style mini-games where you flail your arms about attempting to
mimic the repetitive actions of rolling out dough, chopping onions or injecting butter into hot dogs (Paula Deen secret level). And, like all Wii games, the initial thrill will likely devolve into desultory wrist flicking from the comfort of the couch within an hour.
There are 30 recipes designed by Food Network chefs, but you don't actually interact with virtual versions of the cable giant's biggest stars. Apparently, the only people making an appearance are Food Network exec Susie Fogelson -- a judge on The Next Food Network Star -- and Food Network Kitchens chef Mory Thomas.
All the thrill of cooking, without the food. Wheee?
