Joe Henry - Blood From Stars

With his work as both producer and a songwriter overlapping and informing one another, it's only natural that the blues found their way onto Henry's latest album after he most recently produced albums for Allen Toussaint and Ramblin' Jack Elliott. The album features veteran musicians including guitarist Marc Ribot and pianist Jason Moran.

Delbert McClinton - Acquired Taste

The 19th album in the career of a Texas roots music legend. He doesn't change the musical formula on the album (a juke-joint blend of country, blues, soul, and rock & roll).

The Popes Featuring Shane MacGowan - Outlaw Heaven

The Popes are back with Shane MacGowan on three songs.

Sun Ra & His Solar Arkestra - Live In Helsinki 1971

Sun Ra was a jazz composer, bandleader, piano and synthesizer player, poet and philosopher known for his "cosmic philosophy", musical compositions and performances. Claiming that he was of the "Angel Race" and not from Earth, but from Saturn, Sun Ra developed a complex persona that made him a pioneer of afrofuturism as he preached awareness and peace above all.

Richard Thompson - Walking On a Wire (1968-2009) 4xCD

The definitive career-spanning collection in a deluxe four-disc set covers every phase of Richard Thompson's career. The songs chosen for this selection of his box set were carefully assembled and cover a wide range of styles: rock & roll with folk, jazz, rockabilly and the odd waltz and soundtrack theme thrown in for good measure. Compiled by Thompson himself.

Various Artists - Funky Frauleins: Female Beat, Groove, Disco, Funk in Germany 1968-1978

18 glistening pearls of German-ified groove, federal funk and imperial beat from the '60s and '70s, all with one common denominator: swinging Frauleins holding the microphone. Most of them are genuine locals. Some, however, had the most fleeting guest appearances as Frauleins, while others arrived from different countries to carve out a career in Germany and ended up staying for decades.

Various Artists - Girls Girls Girls: The Best of Burlesque and Striptease Music

A vintage collection of nearly lost artifacts from the golden era of burlesque. A musical celebration of the art of the striptease.

Loudon Wainwright III - High Wide & Handsome: The Charlie Poole Project 2xCD+Booklet

A grand gathering of songs, both old and original, revisiting the life, times and recorded legacy of legendary singer and banjo picker Charlie Poole (1892-1931).

Vinyl:

The Flaming Lips - Soft Bulletin 2xLP+CDEP

Now available on double HQ-180 vinyl. Includes a bonus three song CDEP in a Babypak.

Modest Mouse - No One’s First and You’re Next

Now available on vinyl.

Charley Patton - High Water Everywhere

One step further into the life and music of this early blues legend, this compilation features the two-part "High Water Everywhere", considered to be one of the greatest blues songs of all time.

Charley Patton - Jesus Is a Dying Bedmaker

12 more tracks from Patton's 1929 recording sessions. Here he performs some of his finest spiritual blues, like the title track. One the most seminal blues artists of all time.

Kevin Seconds / Mike Hale - split 7”

The A-side, "Big American Thing", is from 7 Seconds front man Kevin Seconds, while the flipside, "Wasted Youth", features a track from Mike Hale, vocalist for Gunmoll and In the Red. Both tracks are previously unreleased.

Spoon - Got Nuffin’ 12”+MP3

Now available on vinyl. Limited to 1000 copies and we got 5 of them. Includes a download card with access to the bonus track found on the CD single, but not on the 12".
