A high school math teacher in Pennsylvania, Heather Zeo, was recently arrested for seducing her 17-year-old student and having an inappropriate relationship with another pupil. The student claims that Zeo, a 36-year-old mother of 3, friended him on Facebook (Editor's note: I've since friended Zeo on Facebook and am waiting for a sexy reply). Soon their relationship blossomed from heavy petting in the classroom to a sex romp in the back of Zeo's minivan, in a Target parking lot.
Zeo joins a long line of female teachers crusading for equality in teacher-student sex scandals, providing further evidence that female teachers are just as horny as high school football coaches.
What pisses me off about these scandals is how female teachers get much lighter sentences than male teachers. This is true despite the plea by most 17-year-old women, at least the ones I went to high school with, that they're too mature to date guys their own age. (Yes, I'm still bitter.)
I'm not morally opposed to a teacher having sex with a 17-year-old student, but that's partly because I'm from Texas where the legal age is 17 (or so my college buddies claimed, as they could only get high school girls to date them). That and there were a few teachers I wouldn't have minded taking a ride to Target with.
Of course these weren't the teachers who hit on me. Only one male teacher ever tried to get in my pants. Believe it or not, at 17 I had the sense to say, "No thanks." I also didn't feel the need to ruin this man's career by crying to the police about how I was taken advantage of. As shy as I was, having a teacher hit on me did wonders for my crippled self-esteem.
