Offset your carbon footprint by drinking beer from eco-friendly brewers (video)

You've heard about organic and eco-friendly wines from us recently, but did you ever wonder about the "green" beers out there? (And I don't mean the kind some people drink on St. Patty's Day.) Many breweries around the country are actually becoming quite eco-friendly. Some breweries are taking environmentally friendly initiatives, like using only organic ingredients, having solar- and wind-powered breweries, recycling and composting grains, and some are even using bio-diesel fueled delivery trucks.

I found this great article about the best "green" breweries in the United States that lists some of my already favorite beer makers: Brooklyn Brewery, Stone, New Belgium, and Sierra Nevada. This newsletter from BeerTown.org lists ways to be greener if you make your own home brews. The video (below) also highlights some organic beers and gives some basic facts about them and why you should, "try the flavors of an organically or locally produced brew". I have a deep love for beer and it makes me feel even better when I can offset my carbon footprint just a little more by supporting these great green breweries in the U.S.
