Prelude to Pride presents Our Leading Lady, a comedic backstage romp set in 1865, when British-born stage actress Laura Keene seeks fame and fortune. Of course, there’s a hiccup in the plan when her traveling theater company performs at Ford Theater. To Laura’s dismay, Washington, D.C.’s citizens are more concerned with a certain presidential assassination than her brilliant performance. Proceeds from the performance benefit ASAP (AIDS Association of Pinellas), which provides services to locals living with HIV and AIDS. Visit americanstage.org for more info.
