Do you care where your American Idol’s tongue has been? Adam Lambert and the not so gay agenda (Video)

  • Like Clay Aiken, except, you know, cool.

Sex and American Idol may not be synonymous, but this year things are a little different.  Enigmatic performer Adam Lambert is very close to taking the crown.  But sadly it seems many people aren't as focused on his talent as they are on whether he’ll wear it as king…or queen.

(Video and

intrigue after the jump)

If you don’t follow Idol it's now May, which means it’s time to crown a new victor.  You’ll likely see a lot of press coverage and commentaries, including this one.  Unfortunately you might also come across a malicious smear campaign, dripping vile homophobia across the peaceful, un-smutty internet.  Other bloggers have given credence to these negative ads in an attempt to garner extra “hits” but I won't reduce myself to the same shameless ploy (I‘m looking at you Hilton!).  These ads show provocative pictures of Mr. Lambert in various states of drag and or homo-erotic behavior. It's eye catching, I won‘t lie. I don’t exactly want to see Adam kissing his male admirers, but I don’t have any fire to see Carrie Underwood tonsil wrestling her boy toys either.  His personnel life is in fact HIS personal life.  As a viewer and Idol voter my concern is what he does on the stage.  And no matter which way his cock blows in the wind, that boy knows what he's doing with a microphone.  His performance of Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love” (see video below) IS rock and roll. He owns it like a monkey in a banana factory.

I don’t intend to stand on a soapbox (isn’t it time for a new expression?  What is a soapbox in 2009?) and debate the gay lifestyle.  My views are fairly visible and I'm proud of how far our culture has come.  But we still are all entitled to our own opinions, even the haters.  Having hateful thoughts is one thing, producing propaganda to “cleanse” the masses is a beast all it’s own.  We’ve always had brilliant, homosexual entertainers.  We have wonderful gay teachers and civic leaders.  I even hear we have gays in the Republican party now.  See how far we’ve come?  Less hate, more love.  It sounds so clichéd, so unoriginal.  But just try it.  I bet you’ll be singing a different tune.

Who says "Soapbox" anymore? And, I hate Perez Hilton, this is just one of many instances that d-bag sticks his annoying nose in something that doesn't concern him. Nice column, though!

UGH ! Perez...don't get me started.....sucks.... and green "frankfurters" come to mind. You have not seen jealous until you have seen Perez...among the beautiful people. Adam Lambert should win because he deserves it... end of story. I hope all his theater friends audition next year Hell Ya! otherwise he kind of ruined it for me.... once you've had the best........

These are the same people that don't want people of the same sex to marry even though it does not impact them. Hate is learned and time to start judging people for what they can do outside of the bedroom. I dont watch American Idol but belive that these people should be looking at his talent not makeup.

No I don't care. What I do care about is that he is the most talented AI contestant in the history of the show, he's worked his butt off for years in the biz and he deserves to win. This is a talent show, not a popularity, religious blah, blah, blah show and Adam Lambert is the most talented. P.S. Kevin, many people, including Adam himself, use the word "soapbox". How old are you anyway?

I can't even believe you said he did Led Zeppelin justice. You kill me. However, had he covered Iron Maiden or something more that fit his voice I would have been okay. I'm forced to watch because of my kids, but Adam's voice kills me.

Adam is a true gift to the music industry. I can now listen to old songs that have been worn out that I love and enjoy listening to Adams masterful spin on them! They aren't supposed to be like the originals and his songs are definitly of his own makings yet still awesome! A music God!!
