Earth Day Orgy: Tampa Bay Earth Day events

It's that time of year again: Earth week. Here in Tampa we aren't limiting ourselves to just one day of honoring Mother Earth. I guess as bandwagons go, this one is a good one to jump on. But come May, we'll be experiencing one hell of a hangover after a weeks worth of Earth fests and expos.
For those of you who aren't in touch with your sustainable side, here's the short list:
Saturday, April 18- Sweetwater EarthFest: Building a Just & Sustainable Tampa Bay; Sweetwater Organic Farm, Tampa; 9 a.m.-4 p.m.; free admission
Saturday, April 18- TBARTA talks Transit! West Tampa Library, 2312 W Union St, Tampa; 3:30-5:30 p.m.
Sunday, April 19- Sierra Club's Earth Day Tampa Bay at Lowry Park Zoo; 1101West Sligh Ave,Tampa; 11 a.m.-4p.m.; free admissionThurdsay, April 23 - Saturday, April 25- Eco.lution's Earth Day events: Urban Charrette's eco-minded events, that include an ECO.expo featuring green architecture and interior design products; various times and locations in Tampa: Ybor, the Hillsborough River, Downtown Tampa.
Our Earth deserves a little more than an overdose, it needs attention everyday. Kind of like a bad habit, but in a good way- like that morning cup of joe you can't live without. So enjoy yourself; pick up some green tips, buy some local produce or participate in a meaningful discussion, but don't let it end there. Like those one or two java hits you need everyday, find one or two things you can do everyday to honor our patch of green. Like visiting this site, Creative Loafing's Green Community. Do something every day and discover how you can live green and help save our big piece of green.

I agree with Kathy Moore, Now is the time to stop using harmful chemicals that are causing pollution in our groud- waters, bays, lakes and the Gulf of Mexico. We all see the effects of chemicals, stop purchasing chemicals and go organic.
