Did Jennifer Hudson lip-sync?

If that was lip-syncing, she's an even better actress than I thought she was. But that was apparently the case, at least according to this passage from a HuffPo report (Minor is pre-game show producer Rickey Minor):
Although entertainers can perform live, Minor insisted that Hudson and Faith Hill, who sang "America the Beautiful" before the national anthem, use the tracks the NFL requires them to submit a week before the game.
But even that explanation's unclear. What "tracks" does this statement refer to? Background tracks? Were some parts lip-synced, some not? Whatever. To quote a HuffPo commenter: "That Lady can flat out SANG!"

As I wrote on the Charlotte music blog, qcvibes.com, to me, it was screaming. I give her credit for appearing after the tragedy, but have always thought she is an "oversinger" that screams instead of sings.

Who cares. She did an amazing job... As they say in the black church.. "Girl you'd betta SAAAAANG!"
Everyone keeps saying that "she did an amazing job." Is that so hard if you're not actually singing? Come on, I could sound good if I took a few weeks to record one track in a studio! An amazing job is performed live, everything else seems marginally talented. Then again, I guess that's all dumbed down "Super Bowl" audiences require. Dan http://www.quickheads.com/Construction-Log/
